Early Engineering Introduction to Microelectronics

Sharing knowledge and tools for microelectronic curriculum implementation.

Exposing students to microelectronics early in their engineering or technical education increases their interest in the field and their motivation to continue. Through annual workshops, SCALE faculty from partner universities and community colleges are given the tools to create engaging activities that can be implemented into existing courses.

Instructors share their learning materials on nanoHUB to provide strong resources to help others incorporate microelectronics in their curriculum.

The application of principles of learning derived from cognitive science and the learning sciences to the design of technology-enhanced learning environments. His research builds on design principles to examine the impact of educational technologies on student learning, interest, engagement, and metacognition in STEM. Specifically, his research examines the impact of augmented reality, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and microelectronics on student learning, metacognition, interest, and motivation.
